This dish is almost like gaspacho or at least I've heard...LOL!!All I do know is that we would serve this dish on New years eve & day or as an appetizer(pupu's) - heard it goes great with beer at least that's what I heard as well.... hahaha(I don't drink)!!Something refreshing & at least you don't gain the calories..hahaha!!

Ingredients For kini lau (filippino side dish)

  • 1 lb
    raw shrimp or fresh lean ground beef
  • 12
    lemons, fresh, squeezed w/o seeds
  • 5
    red chili peppers, w/o seeds
  • 1
    maui onion or red onion, chopped
  • 1 - 2 tsp
    salt, to your own taste

How To Make kini lau (filippino side dish)

    If using shrimp, please de-vein & de-shell. If using fresh lean ground beef - for better quality sirloin works best, if you are able.

    Add onions, lemon juice & chili peppers & let soak over night with shrimp or beef which ever you desire in refrigerator. Serve next day as a side dish. **NOTE: Chili peppers range on your own taste level, it can be left out completely if you desire. Same goes with salt!**
