I started making this for Thanksgiving and Christmas 26 years ago and they are the most requested dish every year even if we end up at someone else's house!

Ingredients
- 2 large cans pork and beans
- 1-2 large white onions
- 1 package bacon, uncooked
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup pancake surup
How To Make kathy's savory baked beans

Step 1Empty pork and beans in casserole pan. Remove fat chunks. You dont need them

Step 2Add in dark brown sugar and pancake surup

Step 3Cut bacon in 1 inch chunks and add to the beans

Step 4Slice onions and add

Step 5Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. You want them to thicken but not dried out.
