I started making this for Thanksgiving and Christmas 26 years ago and they are the most requested dish every year even if we end up at someone else's house!

Ingredients For kathy's savory baked beans

2 lgcans pork and beans
-
1-2 lgwhite onions
-
1 pkgbacon, uncooked

1/2 cdark brown sugar

1/4 cpancake surup
How To Make kathy's savory baked beans

1Empty pork and beans in casserole pan. Remove fat chunks. You dont need them

2Add in dark brown sugar and pancake surup

3Cut bacon in 1 inch chunks and add to the beans

4Slice onions and add
-
5Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. You want them to thicken but not dried out.
