jazzed up pepless beans
Got this recipe many, many years ago from Gus Saunders - he had a cooking show and people would call in with recipies. My husband loves this combination of ingredients - says it's "just right" - for him anyway.

Ingredients
- 20 oz. cans baked beans (any variety)
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
- 2 tablespoons minced celery
- 2 tablespoons green pepper
- - salt and pepper to taste
- - cayenne pepper to taste
- 1/2 tablespoon prepared mustard
How To Make jazzed up pepless beans

Step 1Mix all ingredients together and place into a greased, shallow, ovenproof dish.

Step 2If you wish, you can place 3 strips of bacon on top before baking.

Step 3Bake at 375 for approximately 30 minutes.
