green stuff
(1 RATING)
Don't let the name put you off, this really is good.I got this recipe from my 1st husband's mom. I've never been fond of jello mold recipes & never ate one until I got this recipe & this is the only one I will eat. I usually make it especially for my son on Thanksgiving. I never had a name for it & neither did my mother-in-law. So my son would always ask if I was going to make the green stuff for him, hence the name.

Ingredients
- 1 package lemon gelatin
- 1 package gelatin, lime
- 1 pound container cottage chesse (small curd)
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- #2 can pineapple, crushed (in own juice, don't drain)
- 1 lg can evaporated milk
- 2 cups boiling water
- - miracle whip salad dressing (optional)
How To Make green stuff
-
Step 1Dissolve gelatin in water, both flavors together. Mix well.
-
Step 2Add rest of ingredients, including pineapple juice & mix well.
-
Step 3Pour into mold or just into a large foil sheet cake pan. Chill until set, if in pan, cut in squares & serve with a dollop of Miracle Whip salad dressing.
-
Step 4This recipe can be cut in half if you're not making it for a big dinner, just use a small square foil cake pan. I use the pan instead of a mold as it looks better cut in a square, rather than scooped out.
