grandma's baked beans
My mother has made these beans for years. This recipe pairs nicely with my macaroni salad recipe!

Ingredients
- 1 pound navy beans
- 1/4 pound salt pork
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, light
- 2/3 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon dark molasses
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make grandma's baked beans

Step 1Soak beans overnight. In the morning boil over a low heat for 30 minutes. Adding water to cover if necessary.

Step 2Take 1/2 cup of the bean liquid and dissolve the dry mustard, white sugar and brown sugar. Add to the beans.

Step 3Add the following to the beans. Molasses, salt and ketsup.

Step 4In a dutch oven place the onion and most of the pork cubes in the bottom. Pour in the bean mixture.

Step 5place the remaining pork cubes on top.

Step 6Bake at 325 degrees for 4 hours and 30 minutes.
