These are very similar to refried beans without the frying. Soak overnight for faster cooking. Great for Mexican night :)

How to Make Frijoles

Step-by-Step

  1. Place the beans,sugar, garlic, onions and bacon in slow cooker. Pour in water, cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Drain 2/3 liquid and discard bacon. Use a potato masher to mash beans to a chunky consistency. season with salt to taste and serve hot.
