Fall Harvest Sammie

Barbara Mayo

Love to eat this in the fall with and without a cup of soup!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Sometimes the most unusual combinations marry together to make something fabulous. This is true with this yummy sandwich! The peppery bacon, tangy goat cheese, and tart apples are a great combination. The sweet honey and brown sugar pull all the flavors together. So good and easy! The Test Kitchen

How to Make Fall Harvest Sammie

  1. Cook bacon as directed, drain on paper towel, set aside.
  2. Spread each half of honey wheat sandwich thin with goat cheese.
  3. Core and thinly slice apple. I used 2-3 slices of apple per sandwich.
  4. Place on 1 side of sandwich thin.
  5. Top with 1 tablespoon brown sugar, per sandwich.
  6. Using propane torch (or use your broiler on high until sugar begins to bubble) brown sugar until it becomes bubbly.
  7. Place 1 piece of bacon halved on top of apple half of sandwich.
  8. Drizzle honey over apple half of sandwich. Serve with a hot cup of soup your choice!
