black pepper

ground red pepper

processed cheese, shredded (such as velveeta), about 3/4 cup
2 1/2 oz
extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, about 2/3 cup
1/2 c
gruyere cheese, shredded
1/4 c
parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 tsp
kosher salt
cooking spray
1/4 c
fresh breadcrumbs

How to Make Easy Stovetop Mac and Cheese


  • 1Preheat broiler to high.
  • 2Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain.
  • 3While the pasta cooks, combine milk, flour, and peppers in a large saucepan, stirring with a whisk. Brink to a boil; cook for 4 minutes or until thick. Remove from the heat.
  • 4Add the cheeses and salt to the milk mixture. Stir until smooth. Add the pasta, and stir to coat.
  • 5Spoon the mixture into a glass or ceramic baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top; broil for 2 minutes or until browned.
