When I was growing up, my mother went to a Bible class every Monday night at White's Ferry Road in West Monroe. I was responsible for the meal that night. I always made these deviled eggs to go with whatever Mama left to heat up.

  • 12
    hard boiled eggs
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 tsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    dill pickle relish

How to Make Deviled Eggs


  1. Cut eggs in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and mash with a fork.
  2. Add all other ingredients except mayonnaise.
  3. Add the mayonnaise (may have to add more for desired consistency).
  4. Fill the egg whites with the mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Chill until serving time.
