Daddy made cornbread dressing like you have never tasted...melt in your mouth yummily. My absolute favorite food of the holidays. He is no longer here with I make it now because he lives on through what he enjoyed. I hope ya'll enjoy it too. :)

  • 8 c
    cooked cornbread, crumbled
  • 2 can(s)
    cream of celery soup
  • 2 can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 4 stick
  • 1 large
    sweet onion
  • 1 large
    green bell pepper
  • 3 or 4 c
    turkey broth
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, melted
  • ·
    salt and pepper (to taste)

How to Make Daddy's Cornbread Dressing


  1. Preheat oven to 400*
  2. Crumble cornbread in a large mixing bowl. Add celery, onion, and bell pepper. Stir well.
  3. Add cream of chicken, cream of celery, butter, and 2 cups broth to cornbread mixture; stir until mixed thouroughly.
  4. Add remaining broth, 1/2 cup at a time, until desired consistancy is reached (as it bakes it will dry out some). Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Pour into deep 9 by 13 in. baking pan. Bake 40 to 45 mins @ 400*.
