How To Make crockpot baked beans
-
Step 1Soak beans overnight in cold water.
-
Step 2Place beans in slow cooker and stir in the rest of the ingredients.
-
Step 3Pour in just enough water to cover the beans.
-
Step 4Cook on low for 8-9 hours or until beans are soft. Stir a couple times during the second half of the cooking. NOTE - You can cook on high for a part of the time to shorten the overall cooking time.
-
Step 5ALTERNATE METHOD: Cook the beans on the stove top for about 1/2 hour and drain before adding to crockpot. Save drained water and then stir in enough water for a "soupy look."Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
-
Step 6NOTE: Adjust ingredients to your taste: add more ketchup, molasses, bbq sauce, hot sauce, bacon, etc.
