Aunt Roselles recipe. She is from the deep south where they take their mac & cheese very seriously, so you KNOW this has got to be good !

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • CRUMB TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

How To Make crock pot mac & cheese

  • Step 1
    Cook the macaroni according to package directions until almost tender.
  • Step 2
    Mix the cooked macaroni with all the remaining ingredients (except 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese) in a large bowl. Pour mixture into a well greased crock pot.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  • Step 4
    Cook with the crock pot set on low for 3 hours. DO NOT COOK ANY LONGER THAN 3 HOURS OR YOUR MACARONI WILL BECOME DRY AND STICKY.
  • Step 5
    To make the topping, melt 1 Tablespoon butter and mix in with the dry bread crumbs. When ready to serve, sprinkle topping onto the macaroni and enjoy !!
