There are many variations of baked beans. I like this one that has a little bit of a bite from the jalapeno and love the smokey flavor.

Ingredients

  • 30 ounces pork and beans (2 cans)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon jalapeno nacho rings, finely chopped
  • 3 dashes liquid smoke, optional (about 3 drops)
  • 3 slices bacon, raw

How To Make cowboy baked beans

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Step 2
    Mix all ingredients together except for bacon. Pour into a two-quart casserole.
  • Step 3
    Top with bacon.
  • Step 4
    Bake for approximately one hour.
  • Step 5
    Remove bacon and stir before serving.
  • Step 6
    NOTE: I usually just chop up the bacon and add it to the other ingredients before baking.
