country cornbread
A family favorite for any time of the year. So good!! Slather with butter. I use thawed frozen corn for this. You can use drained canned corn. Enjoy!

Ingredients
- - 1 1/4 cups cornmeal
- - 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- - 5 tablespoons sugar
- - 2 teaspoons baking powder
- - 1/2 teaspoon salt
- - 1 cup buttermilk
- - 1/3 cup oil
- - 1 egg, beaten
- - 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- - 1 cup corn
- - 1 tablespoon fresh jalapeno, seeded and minced
How To Make country cornbread

Step 1In large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center of the mix and pour in the buttermilk, oil and egg. Stir lightly until ingredients are lightly moistened. Fold in cheese, corn and jalapeno; stir. Pour mixture into lightly oiled 8x8 baking dish.

Step 2Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes, or until tested clean in center. Let cool slightly, cut into squares.
