My first turkey came with feathers and all. Thankful next year the bird was dressed and ready to be cooked. Date 1954.

  • 1
    2 cup recipe of baked cornbread
  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    stalk celery, chopped about 2 cups
  • ·
    chicken or turkey broth as needed
  • 1 Tbsp
    sage or poltery seasoning, adjust to taste
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 lb
    cooked sausage or
  • 1 can(s)
    oysters or fresh oysters

How to Make Cornbread Dressing


  1. Bake cornbread the day before and crumble.
  2. Add to cornbread onions and celery.
  3. Add a cup at a time broth until wet enough for your taste.
  4. Add seasonings and taste to adjust.
  5. Place in greased pan and bake at 400 degrees about 20 minutes or until brown.
