It was a toss up when asked for my birthday meal, between Chinese Coleslaw and layered salad. Luckily, we had multiple opportunities over the summer in Eagle River to manage to have both, and often more than once!

Ingredients
- 1 pound cabbage
- 4-6 - green onions and tops
- 2 packages chicken flavor ramen noodles, crushed
- 4 ounces toasted slivered almonds
- 5 ounces salted roasted sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup dark vinegar
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 packages flavor from ramen noodles
How To Make chinese coleslaw, original

Step 1Mix cabbage and onions and set aside in large bowl with lid.

Step 2Mix noodles, almonds and sunflower seeds and set aside.

Step 3Mix vinegar, oil, sugar and chicken flavoring in a jar.

Step 4Combine at least 1/2 hour before serving to soften noodles. Although we liked it better when combining longer than that...and it is even better day 2!
