I have been making this for my family since I was 8...I'm not sure where I first found this recipe(in 1978) but I remember being tickled that it had Cherry Coke in it and have been making it ever since...

Ingredients

1 small package black cherry jello (or cherry)
1- 16oz bottles cherry coke (now i buy a 20oz and measure)
1 cup black pitted cherries (or maraschino cherries)
1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)

How To Make cherry coke salad

Step 1

Heat 1 cup cherry coke to a boiling point and add jello and stir to dissolve.

Step 2

Add remaining one cup of cherry coke which has been chilled. Stir.
Step 3

Add cherries and pecans. Pour into a shallow mold or bowl.
Step 4

Chill until firm. Best if you hide it in the back of the fridge and wait til everyone is asleep and eat it all yourself. :-) When I do this I top with a half a tub of cool whip.
