chef jo's sweet & tangy barbecue sauce

This is yummy, I'm going to grill some chicken and slather this all over it! It's got a lovely thick consistency which makes it cling to the meat.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons goat butter
  • 1 small onion minced
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup vegetarian worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons carob molasses
  • 2 tablespoons liquid organic honey
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground pablano peppers (or less if you dont' like it spicy)

How To Make chef jo's sweet & tangy barbecue sauce

  • Step 1
    In a large pot melt the butter over medium heat. Mince the onion and put it in the pot with the butter and cook until it's soft.
  • Step 2
    Add all the other ingredients and bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 30 minutes, stirring occasionaly.
  • Step 3
    Enjoy!
