Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups quick cooking grits
- 5 1/3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
How To Make cheesy grits
-
Step 1Get your ingredients together
-
Step 2On med-high heat; bring water and salt to a boil
-
Step 3Add grits slowly, stir constantly as not to clump or stick. Reduce the heat to low; cover and cook for 20-25 minutes till desired consistency. Stir every 3-4 min so not to stick.
-
Step 4When cooked to desired creaminess; add the cream cheese and butter, stir until well blended.
-
Step 5Now add the cheese, and stir until completely melted and blended.
-
Step 6These are so creamy and cheesy!..ENJOY My kids like the leftovers for breakfast w/ bacon crumbled in. Add a little water as these will be thick, heat in a saucepan on low or in the microwave for approx. 1 min, stir and check temp, may need to add a few more seconds.
