From Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. I usually double or even triple the recipe for the large turkey at Thanksgiving. This recipe is even better if you make it the day before.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 cups dry bread cubes
  • 3/4 - 1 cups broth or water

How To Make bread stuffing

  • Step 1
    In skillet, cook celery and onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Remove from heat and add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Place the dry bread cubes in a large mixing bowl. Add the onion mixture. Drizzel with enough broth or water to moisten, tossing lightly.
  • Step 3
    Use to stuff 10 pound turkey.
