I usually double or even triple the recipe for the large turkey at Thanksgiving.

This recipe is even better if you make it the day before.

  • 1 c
    celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/8 tsp
  • 8 c
    dry bread cubes
  • 3/4 - 1 c
    broth or water

How to Make Bread Stuffing


  1. In skillet, cook celery and onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Remove from heat and add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
  2. Place the dry bread cubes in a large mixing bowl. Add the onion mixture. Drizzel with enough broth or water to moisten, tossing lightly.
  3. Use to stuff 10 pound turkey.
