bread & butter pickles

My sister Carole gave me this recipe and I have been making them in the summers. My neighbors and friends love them. It's so easy. I find cute jars and place a fun label I make on my computer when I give as gifts.

makes 2 quarts (prep time is due to cutting onion and cukes)
Ingredients
- 2 cups thin sliced cucumbers
- 1 medium thin sliced onion
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon tumeric
How To Make bread & butter pickles

Step 1Mix all in a 2 quart microwaveable safe dish with cover.

Step 2Cook on high for 7-10 minutes. Stir two times while cooking.

Step 3Let cool and refrigerate.

Step 4Will keep in refrigerator for weeks or freezer. I give as gifts during summer months. Great to put on burgers or just eat by themselves.
