boston baked beans

I got this recipe many years ago and have tweaked it a little to my husband's taste (and mine). Hope you like it :)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried navy beans, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 pound bacon, uncooked and chopped; i use maple flavor (i have also used leftover diced honey ham, for a change)
  • 1 - onion, peeled and chopped (or diced; your preference)
  • 4 tablespoons molasses (i like dark, but both are good)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard (i use colman's original english)
  • 1 teaspoon each, salt and pepper (more or less, to your liking)

How To Make boston baked beans

  • Step 1
    Soak beans in water overnight. Drain.
  • Step 2
    Mix together all ingredients in slow cooker.
  • Step 3
    Add enough water to cover.
  • Step 4
    Cook on high for about 8 hours; stirring frequently.
