This is how my mom makes her stuffing

1/2 c
1 large
diced onion
1-2 c
diced celery with leaves
15 c
toasted 1/2 inch bread cubes
1.5 tsp
1/4 tsp
black pepper
1 Tbsp
dried sage or 1/4 cup minced fresh sage
1/2 c
chopped parsley
1 c
turkey stock, water, or milk

How to Make Basic Bread Stuffing


  • 1Melt butter in large stockpot.
  • 2Add onion and celery and cook until vegetables are tender but not browned.
  • 3Add to bread cubes in large bowl.
  • 4Add salt, pepper, sage, and parsley and toss until well mixed.
  • 5Add turkey stock and blend well.
  • 6Use to stuff 12 to 14 pound turkey.
  • 7Bake leftover stuffing in lightly greased casserole at 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until heated through.
