Barb made these at the lake all the time. I never wrote the recipe down, so when she made it July 6th, 2019 I did. Her mom made it with ketchup and brown sugar, like I do. Making baked beans is individual preferences. But these are what I remember most.

Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    baked beans (2 different flavors, busch's preferred)
  • 2 slice
    bacon, cut in half
  • 1
    vidallia onion, cut in chunks then separated

How to Make Barb's Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. 300 degrees. Dont drain beans. Put in casserole with onions, separated around. Lay bacon po n top.
  2. Put in uncovered until simmers, then cover so they dont dry out. Stir every hour or so. Bake about 3 hours.
  3. Barb takes out the bacon as it doesn't cook. It is just for flavoring. If you want to have the bacon, either cook it and re-add, or take it out. She uses the microwave to cook it after the beans are done.
