baked cheese grits

This is another recipe that my mom used to make. So good, but has lots of butter and cheese ... but I guess that is what makes it so good!!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits cooked as directed
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup ny sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • - optional: 2 tsp. tabasco

How To Make baked cheese grits

  • Step 1
    Add all ingredients to hot grits. Allow butter to melt and mix all together well. Stir quickly, as you do not want eggs to cook as they sit on hot grits.
  • Step 2
    Pour in greased casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until firm.
  • Step 3
    Serve hot and Enjoy!
  • Step 4
    Any leftover cheese grits (yeah, right!) can be stored in refrigerator in a block shaped container and sliced and fried the next day. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
