Nothing fancy, but so good...my aunt always made hers this way..never measured ingredients till now, so I could post the recipe..I don't think I ever make them the same twice. I just keep tasting them as I go. If you like a sweet baked bean, these will do the trick.. Enjoy! My photo's

Ingredients

  • 2 - 28 ounces cans bushes original baked beans
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard
  • 3/4 - 1 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • dash - cayenne ( optional )

How To Make baked beans my way

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  • Step 2
In a roaster or casserole dish, mix all ingredients well. Place in oven, I leave uncovered to get a nice coloring. The longer they cook the thicker they get. Stir occasionally, especially after they start bubbling, so as not to stick. Bake until desired thickness occurs. I usually cook mine for at least 1 hour and 30 min.
  • Step 3
These beans are so simple, yet so good.
