Who doesn't like perfect baked beans! This simple old-time recipe captures the delicious old-fashioned flavor the way baked beans are supposed to taste. When I bring them to a potluck, it is almost embarrassing the way they rave over them! This is one of my most prized recipes, and now you can make them, too!

Ingredients

  • 1 - 15 ounce can of campbell's pork & beans
  • 3/4 - cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 - teaspoon dry mustard
  • 6 - slices bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 - cup ketchup
  • 1 - tablespoon bacon drippings

How To Make bonnie's best baked beans

  • Step 1
Partially cook bacon, do not brown. Mix all ingredients together, beans, sugar, dry mustard, bacon with drippings and the ketchup into a greased casserole dish.
  • Step 2
Bake uncovered in a 325 degree oven for 2 1/2 hours. They magically become the best baked beans you could ever want! Enjoy!
  • Step 3
Cook's Tip: If you are at high altitude, watch your beans. Very high altitude usually doesn't take as long to bake. This recipe can be doubled and tripled for large groups.
