Ingredients

  • - bread, two loaves
  • 1 stick margarine/butter
  • 2-3 sticks celery
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 3 teaspoons sage, dried
  • 4 - apples (optional)

How To Make aunt gen's sage dressing

  • Step 1
    breast should be dried and cubed.
  • Step 2
    in skillet, melt oleo/butter, dice in celery, onion. Saute till tender. Add water to this and heat to boiling.
  • Step 3
    pour over bread which you have sprinkled with salt and sage. Add apples if desired. If it seems a little dry, add a little more water. You want it dampened real well but not soggy.
  • Step 4
    Stuff in turkey, but not too tight. Pack extra dressing at either end around neck, liver and gizzard.
