This recipe comes from an old cookbook called "Miss Cameron's Cookery Book" , also from the 1800's. Directions have been slightly changed to reflect food safety measures.

12 - oysters
1/2 pound bacon
12 slices toasted bread

How To Make angels on horseback

Step 1

Roll each oyster in a thin slice of bacon.

Step 2

Bake at 350 until bacon and oyster are cooked through.
Step 3

Serve on toasted bread.
