adobo wet rub

I found this great little spice slide show that I have used to base some of my own rubs, seasonings, and marinades off of here: http://www.delish.com/recipes/cooking-recipes/quick-dry-rubs-marinades#slide-1. I absolutely LOVE to make my own seasoning mixes. I use this Adobo seasoning mix almost to a T and it is delicious!

yield 2 chicken breasts/leg quarters or equivalent sized meat

Ingredients

  • 1 - lime, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 4 teaspoons mexican, new mexican, or ancho chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

How To Make adobo wet rub

  • Step 1
    Combine juice from a single lime with the EVOO in a bowl and mix.
  • Step 2
    Combine the rest of the dry ingredients separately and mix.
  • Step 3
    Combine dry ingredients with the wet and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Spread onto chicken, lamb, etc. for a delicious and easy Adobo style meat!
