1 cwater, cold
1lemon, juiced and peeled
1 stickcinnamon, broken into halves
2 lbfruit (see notes)
How to Make Stewed Fruit, Mark's
- Put the sugar and water into a stainless pan and bring to the boil. Add the lemon juice and rind and the cinnamon
Cook for 1 minute
Add the prepared fruit to the pan and cook for 3 minutes. Remove the fruit and the cinnamon stick with a slotted spoon.
Blend in the arrowroot with a little cold water stir into the juice, and bring to a boil Return the fruit and allow to cool before chilling
Chill for 30-45 minutes.
- Note: *Almost any fruit will work - cored, diced apples, pears, quince, pitted prunes, peaches, apricots, trimmed gooseberries, cranberries, blueberries, huckleberries, or strawberries, or any mix of these
