Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water, cold
- 1 lemon, juiced and peeled
- 1 stick cinnamon, broken into halves
- 2 pounds fruit (see notes)
- 2 tablespoons arrowroot
How To Make stewed fruit, mark's

Step 1Put the sugar and water into a stainless pan and bring to the boil. Add the lemon juice and rind and the cinnamon Cook for 1 minute Add the prepared fruit to the pan and cook for 3 minutes. Remove the fruit and the cinnamon stick with a slotted spoon. Blend in the arrowroot with a little cold water stir into the juice, and bring to a boil Return the fruit and allow to cool before chilling Chill for 30-45 minutes.

Step 2Note: *Almost any fruit will work - cored, diced apples, pears, quince, pitted prunes, peaches, apricots, trimmed gooseberries, cranberries, blueberries, huckleberries, or strawberries, or any mix of these
