- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 large cooking apples
- 5 tablespoons butter
How To Make southern fried apples

Step 1Combine the sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.

Step 2Wash, core, and slice the apples into 1/2-inch thick rings.

Step 3Heat the butter in a frying pan.

Step 4Add the apple rings and half of the sugar mixture.

Step 5Cook for about 3 minutes.

Step 6Turn the apples, and sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture.

Step 7Cook until the apples are almost transparent.
