I LOVE this recipe. I LOVE the taste and the way it makes my house smell. To me if these aren't on the menu for the holiday meals then it may as well be any old day of the year.

  • 3 1/2 c
    peach halves
  • 1 tsp
    whole cloves
  • 6
    cinnamon sticks
  • 10
    whole allspice
  • 1/3 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2
    orange slices

How to Make Orange Spiced Peaches


  1. Start by making your spice bag. This can easily be done using knee high or thigh high stockings. In your spice bag place your allspice clove and cinnamon sticks and tie it closed. Slice oranges, rind on, and set aside for later use.
  2. In a sauce pan combine juice from the peaches, sugar and vinegar on medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Turn heat to medium low, add orange slices, peaches and space bag and cover with lid. Let simmer for 20 minutes then turn off heat and leave at for another 20 minutes then remove the spice bag. Let cool enough to place in a container and place in the fridge. This dish can be eaten at any temperature but I prefer it cold.
