Ingredients
- 8 large tart apples - cored, sliced (granny smith)
- 1/4 cup bacon drippings or butter
- 1-1/2 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
How To Make fried apples

Step 1In a large cast iron deep skillet, melt bacon drippings or butter

Step 2Layer prepared apples evenly over skillet bottom.

Step 3Sprinkle lemon juice over them, add brown sugar and salt.

Step 4Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes until apples are tender.

Step 5Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Step 6Stir in spices and enjoy
