cranberry and dried cherry relish

So good — and no cooking required. Prepare the relish at least a day ahead, and add more cardamom before serving if you'd like a stronger flavor. From Bon Appetit, November 2001.

Ingredients

  • 1 12-oz packages fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup dried tart cherries (about 5 ounces)
  • 1 cup golden brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

How To Make cranberry and dried cherry relish

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients in large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Place half of mixture in processor. Using on/off turns, process until coarsely chopped. Transfer to medium bowl.
  • Step 3
    Repeat with remaining ingredients. Chill at least 1 day and up to 2 days, stirring occasionally. Makes 2 cups.
