bourbon maple syrup baked pears
I needed something sweet to serve alongside Thanksgiving dinner one year, that was not a dessert. Threw this together easily and there were none left-over. :)

Ingredients
- 4 - ripe red pears
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon soft brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 1 package chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 cup bourbon barrel aged maple syrup
- 0 if you cannot find this surup, 1/2 tsp bourbon in 1 c maple syrup will work.
How To Make bourbon maple syrup baked pears

Step 1Preheat oven to 400. Slice pears in half and carve out the very middle of each half, place cut side up in a glass baking dish

Step 2Mix spices, brown sugar, and syrup in a bowl

Step 3Drizzle half of the syrup mixture over the top of the pears

Step 4Place pears in oven and bake for 10 minutes

Step 5Pull pears out of oven and top with the chopped nuts and drizzle with the rest of the syrup mixture.

Step 6Place pears back into oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the tip of the pear skin curls and pear is soft

Step 7Serve warm.
