boozy cranberries
I was given this recipe by a friend over 20 years ago. It's been a hit where ever I take it. One year, I was trying to get too many things done and i confused the amounts for the sugar and spirits and did 1/2 Cup sugar and 1 Cub spirits. No one complained that they weren't sweet enough. I often do 1 bowl of each Bourbon and Brandy versions.

Ingredients
- 12 ounces bag of cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 medium orange
- 1/2 cup brandy or bourbon
How To Make boozy cranberries
-
Step 1Rinse Cranberries and remove any leaves. Shake dry.
-
Step 2Rinse and dry orange well. Remove and save all of the zest. Squeeze juice from orange.
-
Step 3Place Cranberries, Orange Zest, Sugar, and Orange juice in an ovenproof bowl. Mix well.
-
Step 4Add Bourbon or Brandy, or other spirits of your choice. Mix well.
-
Step 5Bake uncovered in a 350º oven for 1 hour. Stir lightly about half way into the hour. Let cool in bowl. The natural pectin of the Cranberries will thicken the berries as they cool. They last for months of tightly covered in the refrigerator.
