Ingredients
- 3/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 4 cups halved and pitted blue plums
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1/3 cup chopped onions
- - grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
- 1/3 cup finely chopped preserved ginger
- 3 cloves garlic,finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon mustard seed
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
How To Make blue plum chutney

Step 1In a heavy stainless steel saucepan bring vinegar to a boil and stir in brown sugar.

Step 2Add the plums,raisins,onions,rind and juice of lemon,ginger,garlic,mustard seed,red pepper,salt and allspice. Simmer about 1 hour, or until thickened.

Step 3Pour into clean jars to within 1/2 inch of the top and cap. Process in a hot water bath for 5 minutes
