INGREDIENTS
8 slices of bacon
2 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and brined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
1 12-oz. bottle of beer*, room temperature
¼ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup stone-ground grits
1 cup cheese, grated (Dom uses Gouda)
2 tablespoons of Denise's peppers (optional)
