1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon table salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1 stick unsalted butter (chilled and cut 1/2-inch dice) + 2 tablespoons (melted)
1 1/2 cups low-fat buttermilk (chilled)
