the very best crock pot apple butter
The original recipe called for 4c of white sugar and no nutmeg or allspice... needless to say it was enough sugar to put you in a coma! I'm eager to try my own spin on the original recipe and will post results. Update: Family and Friends LOVED it!!!

Ingredients
- 6 pounds fuji apples
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/4 & 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4& dash teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice, ground
How To Make the very best crock pot apple butter

Step 1Peel, core and finely chop apples and place in crock pot.

Step 2In medium bowl white sugar, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, ground cloves, salt, nutmeg and allspice. Pour mixture over apples and mix well.

Step 3Cook on high one hour. Mash with a potato masher 3-5 minutes.

Step 4Cook on low 6-9 hours, stirring and mashing occasionally until mixture is thickened and dark brownish.

Step 5Uncover and continue to cook 45 to 60 minutes on low. Mash with potato masher to increase smoothness. Put in immersion blender if necessary.

Step 6Spoon mixture into sterile containers, cover and refrigerate or freeze.
