roasted garlic for bread
My husband Philip got this recipe from his dad (who ate raw garlic every day because it keeps you healthy and has now out lived his wife and one of his children by many years...just saying)Dad Gursky would make roasted garlic to spread on the italian bread at every meal. It is amazing how simply roasting it makes it have such a wonderful rich flavor.

Ingredients
- - 4 bulbs of garlic
- - 8 t olive oil
- - salt and pepper
- - your favorite crusty bread, italian, french, cuban
How To Make roasted garlic for bread

Step 1Peel the papery skin from each garlic bulb. Leave only enough to hold the cloves together.

Step 2Cut about a 1/4 in off top of each bulb so that the cloves can be seen

Step 3Put bulbs on piece of tin foil about 12 inches square with the cut side of bulbs up.

Step 4Drizzle 2 t of oil over top of each bulb and then sprinkle them with salt and pepper to your liking.

Step 5Wrap in the foil and bake on pie plate or shallow pan, in 350 degree preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Garlic should be tender when poked with a tooth pick.

Step 6Allow to cool a bit and then serve by squeezing the soft garlic from the cloves very gently, and spreading on bread.

Step 7You should now be addicted and will have to have it everytime you serve crusty bread ; )
