No Cream Cheese Cream Cheese Cooked Icing

This recipe comes from my great greatgrandmother. Passed down from generation to generation. Although this recipe calls for "cooked" cream cheese icing. There is NO cream cheese in the recipe. It tastes like cream cheese though. yummy good.

  •   5 Tbsp
    flour. either kind
  •   1 c
  •   2 stick
    butter. not margarine
  •   1 c
  •   1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make

  • 1
    cook flour and milk over low heat. Stirring consistently! Heat and stir till thick. Once thick remove from heat and stir till a little thicker.

    Beat sugar, vanilla, and butter till light and fluffy. Once this mixture is finished add to flour and milk sauce till the right concistensey for spreading on cake. Enjoy!
