my own recipe for home made mustard

I really don't care for store bought mustards or condiments. Although I do use some for cooking,I prefer my own when making a ham sandwich and this is very hot and spicy just the way a good mustard should be...love this on hotdogs and hamburgers too!!!

yield makes a s much as the amount of ingredients you use although I usually make a 8 oz jar at a time.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup dry mustard powder
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seed
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric, ground (or to taste)
  • - white vinegar

How To Make my own recipe for home made mustard

  • Step 1
    With this recipe the important thing to remember is equal amounts of sugar, flour and mustard powder. Mix with turmeric to taste and enough vinegar to mix into a spreadable paste. Store in ajar and let sit for a day or so to mingle flavors. No need to refrigerate.
