This is a great hot spread for a party or you just need a snack. The recipe calls for using rye bread (St.Pattys day I do the rye) , but I cut up bagels to put the spread on but any bread or crackers will work.

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg
    (8oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 pkg
    (2 1/2oz. each) thinly sliced pastrami, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 c
    chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
  • ·
    thinly sliced pumernickel and light rye bread, or bagels (cut up), or soft preztels (cut up)

How to Make Hot Pastrami Spread

Step-by-Step

  1. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add pastrami and green pepper; mix well. Transfer to a greased 1 quart baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle with pecans if desired. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and edges are bubbly. Place bread choice item around you spread and serve.
