This recipe I found in the Food Lovers Companion book. This recipe is a great addition for sauces or soups because it can be boiled and it won't curdle. Serve also spooned over fresh fruit or warm cobblers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 jar i use a mason jar

How To Make home made creme fraiche (krehm fresh)

  • Step 1
    pour heavy cream into a quart mason jar (I usually double recipe) and add buttermilk and stir.
  • Step 2
    set this mixture on your counter, cover opening loosely, and leave on counter for approx 8 to 24 hours. Stir well add lid and refrigerate up to 10 days.
