This rich, smooth and creamy frosting is so easy and so good. You really don't even need a recipe if you can remember the four ingredients. It is just one of each. It's great on carrot cakes, cinnamon rolls etc...

1 - 8 oz. pkg
cream cheese, room temperature
1 stick
salted butter, softened (1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons)
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1 box
confectioners sugar (16 oz. or 1 lb.)

How to Make EASY CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

Step-by-Step

  • 1Using an electric mixer, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth and well combined, scraping down sides of bowl several times.
  • 2Add 1 teaspoon vanilla; add confectioners sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • 3Beat until smooth and creamy, scraping sides of bowl down several times.
  • 4Generously frosts a 9"X13" cake, 12 cupcakes or one 2 or 3 layer cake. Great on cinnamon rolls, too!
