cream cheese frosting for blue suede cake
This frosting tastes more like cheesecake than most icings. It is not too sweet. That's why I like it. If you want very sweet you can probably find another recipe that has more sugar. I think this is perfect for the Blue Suede Cake recipe I posted earlier. I have had this recipe for a long time and am not aware of its origin.

Ingredients
- 2 - (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 - tiny pinch of salt
How To Make cream cheese frosting for blue suede cake

Step 1In a medium mixer bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar and salt. Store icing or frosted cakes in the refrigerator if you have leftovers. Frosts a 2 layer cake or a 9 by 13 inch cake with some left over.
