Yield: about 3/4 cup
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 ounces irish butter (salted specified but there's enough salt in the bacon)
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup, to taste (no fake maple syrup allowed!)
How To Make bacon-maple butter
-
Step 1Cook bacon until crisp; drain on a plate lined with paper towel. When cool enough to handle, crumble the bacon into very small pieces.
-
Step 2Use a fork to lightly mash the butter; stir in the bacon pieces and maple syrup. Place on a piece of plastic wrap and roll to form into a log. Twist the ends of the wrap to secure and refrigerate until the butter holds its shape. To serve, cut into pats.
