Peanut Butter & Coconut Butter Spread



My copycat rendering of Earth Balance brand 'Coconut and Peanut Butter Spread'. In case of peanut allergies you can substitute another nut/seed butter such as almond, cashew, flax, etc. The sugar and salt are optional if you are watching your intake of either. The proportion of peanut butter/coconut butter is estimated and I used approximately a 65/35 ratio. Adjust proportions as desired. The major change made to the recipe was replacing coconut oil with coconut butter (Artisana brand). I must warn you that coconut butter is expensive therefore I make small batches of this spread to reduce $$.

1/4 c
organic peanut butter
1/4 c
coconut butter spread (tested with raw, organic coconut butter)
agave, honey, cane sugar, brown sugar, etc., to taste for sweetening
salt, to taste (a small amount of smoked salt is good, too if you want something extra special!)


1Use a fork to combine all the ingredients. Taste test. Add more coconut butter for more pronounced coconut flavor. Store in a covered container.
